Hello everyone,

My name is Kayla, and I am Alexa’s cousin. In January 2023, our beloved Alexa “Lex” Ruiz was tragically murdered. It has now been 3 years and 4 months since the most devastating and painful day of our lives.

You hear stories like this on the news or see them in movies — heartbreaking tragedies where families eventually receive justice for their loved one. But for Lex, that justice still has not come.

Despite surveillance footage, DNA evidence, and years of waiting, her killer still walks free. Although the case remains open with the NYPD and the Queens District Attorney’s Office, our family is still searching for answers and praying for meaningful progress toward justice.

We refuse to let Alexa’s story be forgotten.

Unfortunately, too many cases involving Latina women across America remain unsolved, often receiving little media attention and inadequate investigation. We will not allow that to happen to Alexa Dianna Ruiz. We will continue to say her name loudly and proudly until justice is finally served.

At this point, our family is hoping to raise additional funds to bring renewed attention to Alexa’s case, especially since the reward money offered through the NYPD has unfortunately not led to the answers or tips our family has been praying for. We are determined to continue spreading awareness, keeping Alexa’s story alive, and doing everything we can to help move this case forward toward justice.
