Abe and his friend Oliver were arrested in South Minneapolis by MN State Troopers for graffiti (a memorial for Alex Pretti) on Monday 1/26. That same night, 24 other people were arrested protesting outside a hotel in Maple Grove Minnesota where ICE director Greg Bovino was supposedly staying. That was nowhere near where my brother and his friend were.

Fox News, The New York Post, KATV7 - on your side, and WCCS Radio and others posted articles stating that Abe and Oliver were arrested for property damage outside the hotel and are "paid rioters and agitators." Now when we google his full name, an article titled “Madman who beat up a pregnant women arrested at riot in Minnesota outside Hotel” and then directly below that title, is my brother’s full name, age and city. They posted his criminal record and mugshot. He’s on X social “criminal watch” too.

He’s never been arrested for any violent crimes in his life. He’s not violent. This is very scary while others are being harassed, targeted, beaten, abducted and murdered in Minneapolis where he lives. This was apparently also on nationwide television. And the propaganda trying to justify their behavior claiming they are only targeting criminals, makes this a dangerous situation. In addition to putting his safety at risk, this defamation will affect his ability to secure employment, and he recently was laid off from the May Day Cafe after working there for a decade.

Thanks to the support of friends, family and strangers alike, contacting the NY post ad Fox News, both have removed Abe and Oliver's names and Abe's picture from their articles and Fox sent us an email admitting their error and blaming it on the police and posted the correction. After 48 hours and probably 200 emails to Emily Crane, the listed author of the misleading and inflammatory NY Post article, they took his name and picture out but offered no correspondence, correction or explanation. I have since seen a video since on their IG still running the bad story that is being reposted.

Although we are glad, they removed Abe from these two articles, we do not believe Fox News' excuse that State Troopers are to blame and are in process of obtaining his arrest record. Unfortunately, there are still 3 other articles circulating online with his name and face and these false accusations and the dangerous title equating him with someone once charged of "beating a pregnant woman" still comes up when we google his full name.

We have identified a defamation and libel legal firm in MN and their retainer is $10K. We want to hold them accountable for their slander and propaganda but do not have this cost upfront which is why we are humbly asking the community for support. If we receive a settlement from Fox News and or the NY Post we will donate at least $10K back to relief efforts providing rent and food assistance to families in Minneapolis effected by terrorism at the hands of ICE and to immigrant rights organizations and legal funds (If anyone would prefer, we pay them their donation back directly, we'd also happy to do so).

We are still trying to get media attention as this is an example of how damaging their lies are to people's safety and livelihoods and we want to bring awareness to how the propaganda machine is responsible for so much of the division and violence we are seeing in our country.
