In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

As Salaam Alaikum/Peace be upon you,

Our children (Masoumeh, Firdawsa & Asiyah) with special needs/disabilities and PTSD have been forcibly removed from our home as of 4/19/2024.

Shaykh Husayn, my husband, has been advocating for the safety and dignity of his children since 2016 despite numerous allegations against our family. He takes his role as a father seriously, providing opportunities for his daughters to thrive and providing them with the necessary emotional support to be confident little girls. He has kept the details of everything happening private and not exposed what has been going on due to the nature of his character and his respect of God. I bear witness to this and I am now advocating publicly for our family.

I am raising $150,000 (God willing) for legal fees and expenses.

At this time there are court proceedings happening in two counties, as well as human rights violations by the Department of Human Services and the police department that we would like addressed.

This is not the first time our children have experienced immense harm at the hands of these systems. This is not the first time the children have been taken from Shaykh Husayn's custody due to lies - despite him being proven innocent/exonerated every single time! But if we can seek justice for these children it will never happen again. Not to our children, not to any child!

Shaykh Husayn filed a motion WEEKS BEFORE the horrific events of 4/19/2024 which spoke to the reality of what would happen if there was direct police involvement with the girls!!! This is not the first time he has cautioned the court of the horrible implications of choices that would jeopardize the physical and emotional safety of the children AND this is not the first time his foresight has unfolded in textbook fashion.

Our family has endured 8 long years of court. Ongoing with motions, filings, hearings, and investigations which Shaykh Husayn has paid out of pocket for ($100,000+) on the salary of a parent CNA and clergy. There are many times, including now, that he has been unable to afford legal representation and we are already in extreme debt due to the never-ending legal fees/expenses. Shaykh Husayn nonetheless always finds ways to hold it down and maintain his responsibilities as a father, husband, and protector of our home.

There was an 8 month investigation by a Parental Responsibilities Evaluator (PRE) which included thorough yet invasive research, review of 1000s of pages of medical and educational documentation, multiple interviews with therapists/educators/family/community members, hours of video and audio evidence, reports made to CPS and police by various mandatory reporters of disclosures from the children about their time spent in the custody of their biological mother during the summer of 2022, home visits, and parental interviews. Shaykh Husayn actively participated in this investigation. The report's final recommendation was for the BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILDREN.

Yet because of allegations little Black Muslim girls with disabilities (including Autism Spectrum Disorder) and PTSD are still forced out of their home despite the severe distress this causes the children.

How could a court system and department of human services which knew extensively about the children’s special needs/disabilities and mental health challenges authorize this type of behavior?

Shaykh Husayn is in the process of finding compentent legal counsel to address the urgent safety concerns that the children and our family are facing.

Many of you have already witnessed firsthand the disturbing and traumatizing video and audio clips from the incidents on 4/19/2024. We have not seen or heard from the children since this date!

We truly believe that this is a community justice issue - no child, no woman, no father, no family, no Muslim, no clergy, no African-American, no person with disabilities, no person with Autism, no person with mental health challenges - ABSOLUTELY NO ONE should ever be treated so disrespectfully and inhumanely.

Please give whatever you are able to and I am asking you to share this with care in your networks and communities, God willing.

A petition is in the works. I will share the link here once it is active.

Justice. Safety. Freedom.
We trust in God.

Thank you,
Sister Sakinah Hasib
