Just Tani

Update as of April 5, 2019:

Dear World,

What started as a need for a home, caught the attention of Mr. Nickolas Kristof from the New York Times, and eventually the world. Tani's story has touched so many, inspired us to be better, to love more, to try harder, and has tapped into the good that exists in all of us. God has shown himself through Tani and his story. God is alive and is at work.

Our Gofundme will accept final donations for the next 24 hours at which point we will begin transferring funds to the Tanitoluwa Ademumi Foundation. We pray that through the work of this foundation, our global voice and the power of God, we will continue to bless others through the love and generosity that has been showered on us. Our foundation looks forward to supporting, empowering and developing talented but less privileged children, supporting homeless children, providing a tithe to our church which continues to be a place of refuge and support for the less fortunate. This is simply the beginning. We hope that in the days and years ahead, we will be able to identify new and creative ways to be a blessing to others who come needing refuge and opportunity. Our vision is that all people created in the image of God are given the chance to thrive and succeed and realize their full potential!

Tani's life was changed in 24 hours. Generous donors and supporters came together outside of GoFundMe and provided us with the housing, legal, and educational resources we needed. This will allow us to use all of the funds raised on the campaign to support the mission of the Tanitoluwa Ademumi Foundation. Imagine the countless lives that can be changed over the course of many days and years to come. We are only a small piece of the worldwide work of caring for less privileged and empowering them to be the best they can, but we believe that together, and with God-all things are possible!

We understand you didn’t necessarily donate to our campaign with this new purpose in mind. If you would prefer not to support the foundation you can get in touch with GoFundMe through this link: http://bit.ly/2qukHJP

Regardless of your choice, we thank you for your support.

Original Campaign Story:

A little over one year ago, Tanitoluwa, an immigrant from Nigeria was FIRST introduced to chess at PS 116 in NYC.

This past weekend at the New York State Chess Championships he claimed the title of New York State Primary Chess Champion! (Top Players K - 3rd Grade)

All the while Tani and his family have been living in a HOMELESS SHELTER.

Tani IS ALL HEART!

Let's all show our HEART and help Tani's family secure a home where he can continue on his journey.

As seen in the NY Times!
