Just Construction 2022 Projects

Hello Friends!!

We had a busy 2021 building chicken coops, cabins, outhouses and more.  Now we're gearing up for our next full year of projects serving BIPOC land based projects in Vermont and Mississippi.

Our first project of the new year will be in support of Cooperation Jackson. Our crew of volunteers will spend two weeks in Jackson, MS repairing a house damaged by a fire. 

Cooperation Jackson 's broad mission is to advance the development of economic democracy in Jackson, Mississippi by building a solidarity economy anchored by a network of cooperatives and other types of worker-owned and democratically self-managed enterprises.

 
The next project will be a 4-day weekend at Kunsikeya Tamakoce finishing up a cabin we started this past summer, for guests visiting the land for ceremony and respite.

Kunsikeya Tamakoce is a queer indigenous women-led space for living and sacred ceremony in Huntington, VT.


In June and July we will spend a week in Corinth, VT finishing up a cabin for Every Town to be used as emergency housing and retreat space for BIPOC and assembling a timber framed pavilion for gatherings and events.

Every Town Accepts land donations to be held in trust permanently for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color throughout Vermont. 

These projects are in need of funding! Our recipients are need support with the cost of materials. The price of materials has skyrocketed and we’re dedicated to closing the budget gap. We also need to pay our lead carpenters,  acquire some critical tools, provide meals for crew, reimburse gas money, and stipend people of color on our crew.
