Junior's Escape

Dear Community Members and Friends,

Hey there, mi gente! I hope all is GOLDEN with you. I want to say ‘mil gracias’ for taking a moment to read this.

One of my dearest friends, Junior, has just taken the incredibly difficult step to exit an abusive and psychologically violent relationship. Junior had to file for divorce and leave behind everything he has ever worked for – right down to his bed. This has been the scariest and most depressing event of his life.

I am incredibly proud of Junior for making the decision to get as far away from this person/relationship as is possible despite the material and emotional loss. This is where, you, our community member, comes in.

I am asking each one of you to contribute whatever you can so that Junior can begin a new life, in the safety and security of a different city and on a fresh path. Your contributions would help Junior secure housing, purchase new clothing, get a bed, and literally get some plates to eat off of. I know some of you may be able to relate to how scary his situation might be, especially after losing everything right down to your last dollar.

I am asking you to help a wonderful person to begin a new life -and to recognize that we all need each other at some point in life. No one does anything alone, nor should we have to! I believe this ethic of community to my core. And even if you can’t financially help Junior at this time, I totally get it. Just do me the favor of passing this along. Together, we can actually make a difference. Peace y’all. May the ancestors guide each of us.
