Juliette Fowler Communities Dog Park Improvement

Dear Friends and Family,

As many of you know, over the past five years, I have been a Boy Scout in Troop 82. I have achieved the rank of Life Scout and am currently working towards the rank of Eagle Scout. The last step to reaching the rank of Eagle is to complete my Eagle Project. For my Eagle Project, I have decided to help the Juliette Fowler Communities in East Dallas improve and enhance their dog park for the benefit of their residents.

Juliette Fowler Communities was founded in 1892 as a non-profit community to help children, the elderly, and those economically less fortunate. Their mission is to provide their residents with the dignity of choice, build community, and create beneficial connections for children, youth, and elders.

One wonderful aspect of Juliette Fowler is that residents can have pets. Juliette Fowler has an existing dog park which unfortunately has seen better days. It has overgrown trees, dangerous ant piles, soil erosion, and minimal dog equipment and features. I plan to add an obstacle course and equipment for the dogs to play, remove hazardous objects such as ant piles and low-hanging tree branches, and eliminate mud by adding rocks around a water spigot. My goal is to beautify and enhance the dog park for all the residents and their dogs to enjoy.

During my time in Troop 82, I have been involved with many community service projects at Juliette Fowler and have grown to enjoy helping its community. My project will require manual labor but also requires that I purchase dog equipment to build and install. It would mean a lot to me to help the residents have a more enjoyable time with their pets and to create a more visually appealing space for all to enjoy. Please consider helping me and the Juliette Fowler Communities residents.
