Julie's Sahara Trek 2025 for Blythe House Hospice!
My Mum, Julie Judge, is going to trek 50km across the Sahara desert in 3 days in March 2025 in order to raise funds for the incredible Blythe House Hospice. This local charity is very close to our hearts and the funds will go directly to the hospice to support those that need it.
Blythe House Hospice adds quality to life by providing the highest levels of care and support to anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer or life-limiting illness across North Derbyshire.
The hospice in Chapel-en-le-Frith provides patients with specialist clinics, physio, occupational therapy, carer support, counselling and bereavement support.
Mum and I witnessed first-hand the outstanding support given through Blythe House's Hospice at Home service when caring for a dear friend whom bravely battled cancer. The Hospice at Home service enables patients with advanced illness to be cared for at home, and to die at home with their loved ones by their side, if that is their wish.
In order to raise funds for this invaluable service for others and in her incredible friend's memory, Mum is asking family and friends to sponsor her in her mission to trek across 50km in the Sahara in 3 days. She will be updating everyone on her fitness journey which has already commenced in preparation for the longest and hardest walk of her life!
We would be incredibly grateful for everyone's support and Mum will be organising a range of fundraisers to help reach my goal of £2,000 for the amazing Blythe House.
I (Sophie) will be running this page on behalf of Mum, because if you know her, you will know that technology is also a great challenge of hers but we are determined to overcome this to raise as much money as possible!
Thank you!
