Julia's Service Mission
Donation protected
I’m Julia. I'm a sophomore in high school and a member of the youth ministry at The Life Christian Church in West Orange, New Jersey. This summer, my youth group is planning a missions trip to Ghana with the organization Adopt One Village (AOV). The mission of Adopt One Village is to improve the quality of life in the rural villages surrounding Abetifi, Ghana by bringing sustainability in the areas of Healthcare, Education, and Infrastructure, one village at a time. I’m excited to go to one of the villages they serve, Yaw Tenkorang, and contribute to this mission.
My family has been involved with AOV my whole life. I grew up serving in their warehouse, helping to package clothes and toys that would be sent to the village in Ghana. Ever since my dad first went on a service trip, I've been eager to become old enough to join a service trip myself. I want to expand the ways that I can serve the village and this trip brings the opportunity for so many different types of service, from distributing necessities to teaching Vacation Bible School. I’m especially excited to get to know the children in the village.
The trip costs $3,900, which includes airfare, food, lodgings, ground transportation and fees for Visa applications. After contributions that I've made from my earnings and savings, and donations I have already received, I still have $2,200 left to raise. Thank you for supporting my cause!
