As we all struggle through these difficult times, please take a moment today to remember Rob Ladouceur, who I’m sure you know, died unexpectedly on March 29th, tragically young and greatly missed.
Rob was like no one else I’ve ever known. A friend to many of us for the better part of our lives, he was kind and caring and always there when the need was greatest.
He had boundless energy, his personality could and often did fill the room. His laugh was infectious, his stories were unbelievable but he was also a good listener who liked conversation. He was a big guy with big ideas and he was ready for anything at any time. We all have abundant stories.
Like everyone I know, Rob wasn’t perfect. He made some mistakes but he appropriately regretted them and he did his best to be a good man. When he was wrong, he moved on and both his family and family of friends always forgave him. Rob had a generous heart and as a result he was much loved.
Rob especially loved his son. In his busy and sometimes crazy life, he spent as much time as he possibly could with Julian and his boy reciprocated his love. As much as we may miss Rob, no one will ever miss him more than his child.
And that is exactly what this is all about. We, family, friends, acquaintances and anyone else moved by Rob’s loss: please consider this request to donate any amount you can afford to fund a trust account for 1-year old Julian Croix LaDouceur. This irrevocable account is to be held in trust until Julian turns 18 when, it is hoped, he will be provided the opportunity to seek an education or to move in some other similar direction without the help his father would have been able to provide him.
Please give what you can. In memory and honor of Rob with Julian’s future in mind, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
