Julia Quave Lawnmower Accident Medical Bills

Hi, I’m Misty Rice, Julia’s daughter. As many already know, she was involved in a terrible lawnmower accident on Wednesday, March 13. Her right arm was severely injured and her left knee was cut very deep plus her left leg was broken as well as numerous other cuts, scrapes, and bruises on her body from the lawnmower running over her and sitting on top of her. By the grace of God, her neighbors heard her screaming for help and rendered aid until the firefighters and paramedics arrived. They all saved her life.

Her right arm suffered the most damage and we still aren’t sure the doctors will be able to save it. She lost most of her radius bone and most of the muscles in her lower arm that control her fingers and thumb.

The doctors and nurses at USA Hospital are simply amazing! They are doing everything they can to find a way to save her arm. She’s had 3 surgeries so far and another one set for 3/19. My mom is widowed and retired with a very limited income. The medical bills are already piling up, so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Update 3/21/24: Mom is having her 5th surgery today. The doctors have had to go in to clean out debris and minor dead tissue and skin on her leg. They did surgery on 3/19 to try to reconstruct her arm by moving some muscles and give her some mobility with her arm and fingers since she lost the muscles that controlled her ability to grasp, move her wrist, and bend her elbow. The surgery today is to attach her arm to her stomach so that skin will grow back on her arm. They said it will have to stay this way for 3 weeks. She’s got a long road ahead and more surgeries but she’s been smiling through it just like her normal self. Please continue to pray for her healing.
