Julia Baker's fight for her life

Donation protected
Greetings fellow humans! My name is Jessica and my siblings and I are asking for help to raise money for Holistic cancer treatments for our Mom who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in her bones.
Our Mom, Julia does not ask for help easily but holistic treatments come with out of pocket expenses which she cannot afford. She wants to tell a quick version of her story to share in the hopes that she'll be able to pay for these treatments and spend her time here with us her family and friends for a long as she can.

Our Mom has always put her family first no matter what. If we need help with anything she's there. She'll rearrange her schedule however she has to to help her children and grandchildren. I've personally been in a bind before with my babysitter getting sick and even though I'm out of town from my family my Mom made it work to drive that night 2.5 hrs to watch my baby for two days so I could work. She is her grandkids favorite Baba Juju (her G-ma name) and it's hard to imagine them growing up without her around.

Julia's story

It all started seven years back when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a lump ectomy done and 13 lymph nodes removed.  I went through five months of chemo and then six weeks of radiation. I thought I had beaten it but two years later when my hip started hurting to the point that I had to stop walking.  I mentioned it to my oncologist and she said well let’s do a scan.  The scan showed that I had developed breast cancer in my pelvic bone.  They did radiation on it and I was put on an oral chemo drug along with a hormone block due to the cancer being fed through estrogen.  This did keep it at bay for four years but then came back in my spine this past February. They did radiation and also a process called kyphoplasty which is filling in that area with a concrete type substance to keep the bone more stable.  Then the first part of this past August I ended up fracturing my pelvic bone by basically climbing some stairs and lifting some thing up. My bones had become weakened because of the breast cancer and it had caused a fracture.  They did another scan at that point and found that I had multiple spots in my spine, neck, ribs, hips and pelvic area.  The only course of action was to put me back on a hard chemo which would not get rid of the cancer but would just stunt it for a while. I decided at that point to look into other alternatives. The facts were explained to me that I am stage 4 and  if I did nothing I might have a year to live.  I desired against chemo because I want to live life not just wait around for the cancer to debilitate me and eventually take me.  I decided to look into other holistic methods. I want the cancer to be gone. The problem with all holistic methods is of course the cost.  This is why I am forced to ask if anyone would like to donate and help so that I can afford these treatments and continue to live a full life.   I have the five adult children and 14 grand children. If you are someone that knows me, I am very active and love life and want to be able to help others. I live for my family and want to be around to live life with them for a long as I can. I am beyond grateful for any and all help.
