The Backstory
What happens when two high school juniors who believe that anyone is capable of making an impact put their minds to something that has a really really big impact?
Meet Amy and Katherine. Normally, they would be taking the SATs, volunteering at school clubs, and picking out prom dresses with friends. When all that changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Amy and Katherine didn’t let their disappointment get them down--no way! Instead, they started the Health for Homeless Project. So far, they’ve donated 1,000 bars of soap, 10 gallons of liquid soap and 480 sanitary napkins to homeless shelters and social service organizations in San Francisco (all while fundraising themselves, which is pretty inspiring). But they didn’t stop there--and that’s where Happy Moose Juice comes in.
The team at Happy Moose Juice is partnering with Amy and Katherine with one big goal: to donate a bar of soap and a bottle of immune-boosting, fresh juice to each of the approximately 8,000 homeless in our city. Because everyone deserves a (Feel Mo’ Betta) shot at health, and a (Chard Knock Life) opportunity to smile. Especially those whose lives are most imperiled by the hygienic challenges the pandemic presents.
Here’s how you can help: when you donate to Juice for Joy, your contribution goes directly to processing and distributing juice and soap to shelters and non-profits across the city. And your donation also supports Happy Moose Juice by keeping our farmers and juicers afloat.
