After several planning appeals, a planning inspector has now allowed development at Foxes Run without appearing to have ever visited the site. In his report, he states that waste lorries have been travelling down Mill Lane. This is simply not what residents have experienced and is a crucial error, because it downplays the impact that heavy traffic will have on our narrow residential lane.
On top of this, the approved scheme involves bringing approximately 3,200 tonnes of building materials onto the site. This will mean a large number of HGV movements along Mill Lane and past Brookfields, seriously affecting residents’ daily lives, safety, and amenity.
The site is also known to contain a Second World War bomb. Any large-scale works and heavy vehicle movements on land with an unexploded ordnance risk must be planned and managed with extreme care. We do not believe this has been properly considered in the decision.
