Desde hace 13 años, la Iniciativa Juárez-Berlín (Juarlin) conecta a personas, colectivos y organizaciones de ambos lados del mundo. Lo hacemos a través de viajes de intercambio y formación política, donde compartimos experiencias sobre organización comunitaria, resistencia, memorias y alternativas económicas.
Cada año, el intercambio se alterna:
un año personas de Ciudad Juárez viajan a Berlín

al siguiente, personas de Alemania vienen a Ciudad Juárez.
Durante las estancias, conocemos organizaciones sociales, memoriales, espacios culturales y educativos, construyendo redes de apoyo mutuo que fortalecen activistas y luchas sociales en ambos países.
¿Qué impacto tiene Juarlin? ✨
Más que un viaje, Juarlin es una comunidad internacional. De estos intercambios han nacido proyectos que proponen alternativas en la vida cotidiana en Ciudad Juárez:
La Gratis Tienda — inspirada en las gratistiendas y “free boxes” berlinesas, hoy tiene más de 52,000 miembros en su versión virtual y una tienda física en el centro histórico. Cada día, cientos de personas practican la solidaridad dejando lo que no necesitan y tomando lo que sí.
El Edificio de los Sueños — un centro cultural y de economía solidaria que transforma la Plaza Cervantina, y promueve la autogestión, el arte y las prácticas comunitarias.
Además, se han impulsado colaboraciones entre universidades, colectivos artísticos y redes locales que fortalecen la organización desde los barrios y las luchas sociales.
✈️ ¿Por qué necesitamos tu apoyo?
En verano de 2026, un grupo de 14 personas de Ciudad Juárez fue invitado a participar en la estancia de Berlín, para seguir tejiendo aprendizajes y colaboraciones durante dos semanas y media.
Las personas de Alemania autofinancian su viaje, pero desde México necesitamos apoyo para cubrir:
- transporte
- hospedaje
- ️ traducción
- alimentación
- seguros
- ️ y materiales para las actividades formativas.
La asociación encargada de la estancia y representando la red en Alemania es IAK e.V. El costo total estimado es de 45,000 euros (963,000 pesos). Desde 2025 ya no recibimos fondos del Senado de Berlín, que siempre ha brindado un apoyo financiero relevante. Nuestra meta es recaudar 17,000 euros que nos falta a través de la solidaridad de personas y comunidades que creen en el poder de la cooperación internacional desde abajo.

Support our network between Ciudad Juárez (Mexico) and Berlin (Germany)
For the past 13 years, the Juárez–Berlin Initiative (Juarlin) has connected individuals, collectives, and organizations on both sides of the world. We do this through exchange trips and political education, where we share experiences around community organizing, resistance, memory, and economic alternatives.
Each year, the exchange alternates:
one year, people from Ciudad Juárez travel to Berlin;
the next, people from Germany come to Ciudad Juárez.
During these stays, we get to know social organizations, memorials, cultural and educational spaces, building networks of mutual support that strengthen activists and social struggles in both countries.
What impact does Juarlin have? ✨
More than a trip, Juarlin is an international community. From these exchanges, projects have emerged that propose alternatives in everyday life in Ciudad Juárez:
La Gratis Tienda — inspired by Berlin’s gratistiendas and “free boxes,” it now has more than 52,000 members in its virtual version and a physical store in the historic center. Every day, hundreds of people practice solidarity by leaving what they don’t need and taking what they do.
El Edificio de los Sueños — a cultural and solidarity economy center that transforms Plaza Cervantina and promotes self-management, art, and community-based practices.
In addition, collaborations have been fostered among universities, artistic collectives, and local networks that strengthen organizing from neighborhoods and social struggles.
✈️ Why do we need your support?
In the summer of 2026, a group of 14 people from Ciudad Juárez has been invited to participate in the Berlin stay, to continue weaving learning processes and collaborations over two and a half weeks.
Participants from Germany self-finance their travel, but from Mexico we need support to cover:
- transportation
- accommodation
- translation
- food
- insurance
- and materials for the educational activities.
The association responsible for the stay and representing the network in Germany is IAK e.V. The total estimated cost is 45,000 euros (963,000 pesos). Since 2025, we no longer receive funding from the Berlin Senate, which has always provided significant financial support. Our goal is to raise the remaining 17,000 euros through the solidarity of people and communities who believe in the power of grassroots international cooperation.
