Hope for Harry
Tax deductible
Great Pyrenees Rescue Society, in conjunction with National Great Pyrenees Rescue, needs your help! We have an incoming young male that is part of a devastating cruelty case from a rural county in TX. This sweet boy is named Harry. Neighbors witnessed Harry being severely beaten by his owner after he had attempted to jump the fence out of fear, because the other dogs in the yard were attacking him. Animal Control was called to the residence of the dog owner. Fortunately, the owners surrendered him to a county shelter, who then called Great Pyrenees Rescue Society.
The vet determined that he was so severely beaten that his hip is broken and he now needs FHO surgery. Harry will have a 4-6 week recovery. We are hoping to raise funds for this surgery and Harry’s after care needs.
Unfortunately, the neighbors who called Animal Control wanted to remain anonymous and unrecognized. Animal Control could see the dog was injured, but without a written statement from a witness, they could not press charges. They got the owners to surrender the dog, and didn’t leave him there, but that was the best they could do.
This is only one of the many severe cases our rescue sees all too often. Please consider donating to Harry’s case so Great Pyrenees Rescue Society can continue to help dogs in these horrific situations. Harry is very sweet and submissive and is great with other dogs, cats, and loves people. He is now safe and will be on the path to a much better life that he so deserves.
