On June 7th, our small town suffered an unimaginable loss. Rebecca Haynes, a member of the Class of 2022, was tragically and unexpectedly taken from us in an act of violence.

Rebecca was full of quiet strength, joy, and love. Though she often kept to herself, those who knew her saw her for who she truly was—a kind soul with a gentle heart and a beautiful smile that brightened every room. She was recently embracing a new and deeply meaningful chapter of her life: becoming a mother to a beautiful baby girl.

Rebecca loved her daughter fiercely. It is devastating to know that her child will grow up without her mother—but we want to make sure she never grows up without knowing how loved and supported her mom was.
