Feed The Hungry Through music--2019!

“I’m so hungry!” Who hasn’t said that as dinnertime gets closer or if there was no time for breakfast? But how many of us know what that really means—to be truly hungry? How many of us know what it’s like to not know where our next meal will come from? Or if our kids will be able to be fed a real dinner tonight?
Unfortunately, for millions in our country, this is the reality of every day. And you may not think it’s the case, but thousands in your own local community are dealing with that reality as well.
We at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Applebachsville (Quakertown, Bucks County, PA), wanted to do something about this problem. So every other year since 2005, we have thrown a music festival called Joyful Noise to benefit our local food pantries, which are working incredibly hard to give some relief to our neighbors in need. We’ve had 7 festivals so far and have raised over $53,300 and hundreds of pounds of food donations. Our last festival in June 2017 was our most successful yet, raising $14,100 for the pantries.
Joyful Noise 8 will be held on June 22, 2019 and will feature 8 musical performers, great food, kids’ activities, a classic car cruise and local artists and crafters displaying their wares. 100% of money raised over our expenses goes to the food pantries. Our expenses for the day come to about $10,000, so the more we raise, the more we can donate. And that’s where you come in.
Of course, we’d love you to join us on June 22 (go to www.stpaulsqtown.org/joyful-noise for info, directions and pictures from Joyful Noise 7). But we hope that there are some of you out there who would like to help out even if you can’t attend the festival. This is a huge undertaking for a small church like ours, but we are so proud of the good work that we are doing and the help we are giving to our community.
