Help Us Launch “Joyfully Elaine” — Honoring Love, Legacy & Life Changing Moments.
Hi, my name is Libby Parkin, and I’m starting this campaign to honor someone who changed my life — Joyce Elaine.
At 20 years old, I began working in memory care as an activity director. That’s where I met Joyce Elaine — a resident who was exactly 70 years older than me. She wasn’t just a friend; she quickly became my best friend, my mentor, and the brightest light in my life.
Joyce changed the way I saw the world. I met her during a time when everything in my life felt uncertain, but she never seemed to notice — or maybe she just didn’t let it matter. With her, it was about the present moment. Our walks through the courtyard, admiring butterflies and noticing the smallest details in the garden, taught me to slow down and truly appreciate life’s simplest joys.
She helped me realize how precious life really is — not because of big achievements, but because of quiet moments, connection, and presence.
Joyce had a way of lighting up every room. She introduced herself proudly as “Joyce Elaine” — never just Joyce. Her presence radiated joy, humor, and love. After she passed, I felt a calling to carry her spirit forward and share the light she gave me with others.
That’s why I’m launching a foundation called Joyfully Elaine — a foundation created to honor people in memory care by reducing isolation, celebrating their lives, and sparking joyful, intergenerational connection.
I believe every person in memory care deserves love, dignity, and meaningful connection — just like Joyce gave me. But this vision needs support to come to life.
Your donation will help us:
• Launch the foundation legally (filing fees, nonprofit setup)
• Create programs that connect younger generations with seniors in memory care
• Provide joyful experiences (music, art, visits) to isolated residents
• Raise awareness and advocate for dignity in Dementia and Alzheimer’s care
Whether you donate $5 or $500, every contribution helps us get one step closer to building something beautiful in Joyce Elaine’s honor.
This is more than just a foundation — it’s a movement of hope, humanity, and love across generations.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting this dream.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Libby Parkin
