When our little girls were in elementary school, 27 years ago, I met this woman, Joyce, whose laugh lit up a room. As our children’s bond grew so did ours and she is my dearest friend. If it’s talking on the phone or going on an outing we laugh at the silliest things. I can’t imagine a better way to spend time than with my best friend.

A few years ago, Joyce had a battle with cancer and she pushed through and grew stronger. We all thought that was a part of her past. This year the cancer returned and Joyce has been ill for months not knowing what was wrong. Even the doctors couldn’t figure it out. She’s now been hospitalized for over a month. Her husband Darrel has been by her side and her daughters travel home as much as possible to also be with her.

This has been physically and emotionally draining on her family, not to mention the monetary pains. Well, Joyce is being made ready to enter into hospice. I thought that by setting this up it could help just a small bit for her family to not have so much burden all at once. I so wish there were more I could do besides this, but I can only be there for my friend. Please, if you can help I would be forever thankful.
