Joya Van Vliet's Children

On April 2nd 2021, Joya Faye Van Vliet, a beloved mother of 8 children unexpectedly passed away from a pre-existing heart condition. Her beloved husband David passed on February 19, 2021. To those who knew Joya, knew that she was a loving, kindhearted and dedicated person. She gave of herself to help others, even when she was facing her own adversities. She possessed the fortitude needed to be a superb mother. She made everyone feel as though they mattered. Throughout her bout with heart complications her presence alone reminded us to smile, be grateful, and lend a helping hand. Her love was not only expressed in words; it was felt through her actions. Most importantly, she loved her family, and they were her greatest joy. As you can imagine, a family of 8 will face some obstacles as the glue that held the family together is no longer with us. However, there is a blessing amidst the adversity, and that is in her son, Kyle Van Vliet.  At 21, Kyle has committed to adopting his 5 younger siblings. He is an exceptional young man, and a reflection of his mother’s nurturing love and selflessness. He graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School in 2018. Aside from obtaining his mechanical tech certification, he is well into his multi-degree program at Randolph Community College. This is all while working a full-time job and maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Kyle’s priority is to keep his siblings together. We know that the journey this family will embark on will not be easy, and helping Kyle steer his siblings in the right direction will take more support than a young man like him can provide. We will make certain that funds are used for the health and well-being of Kyle and the siblings he will adopt. We know these are difficult times for many, so we appreciate any donation no matter the amount. The children ages are Kameron Van Vliet 16, Kayla Van Vliet 15, Kayden Van Vliet 13, Karson Van Vliet 10 and Karissa Van Vliet 8.
