My name is Safina, and I am the founder of Jowi Children Foundation a dream that was born out of struggle, love, and the desire to make a difference in my community, I am from Uganda.

Growing up in a single-parent household, I watched my mother carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. She did everything she could to raise me and my siblings, often sacrificing her own comfort so we could have a little more. I still remember nights when she went to bed hungry just so we wouldn’t have to, and days when her tired smile was the only thing holding our little family together.

As a child, I often wished someone would help us someone who could make things just a bit easier. That pain, that longing, became a promise in my heart: if I ever got the chance to give back, I would be the helping hand I once needed.

Years later, that promise became Jowi Children Foundation a small but growing organization dedicated to supporting orphaned children, children with disabilities, and single mothers in my community. We provide food, clothes, school supplies, and emotional support the little things that mean so much when you have almost nothing.

It hasn’t been easy. There have been days when our funds ran out, but the needs never did. Days when I had to look into the eyes of a hungry child and wish I could do more. Yet, every smile we’ve brought back, every child we’ve seen laugh again, every mother who’s regained hope reminds me why I started.

I’ve learned that hope grows stronger when we share it. That’s why I’ve created this fundraiser not for myself, but for the children who deserve a chance to dream, to learn, and to feel safe.
