Village Kids Fruit Ice Cream Fund
Small Scoops, Big Dreams
Here our Our Story:
In the deep village of Villa González, Dominican Republic, a group of teenagers decided to do something different.
While most kids are stuck on screens all day, these teens wanted to learn entrepreneurship:
to hustle,
to create,
and to earn with their own hands.
So together, we launched Jóvenes con Negocios (Young People with Businesses). Their very first project?
Selling natural fruit-flavored gelato (Nieves) made from fresh local fruits.
How It Works
The kids make ice cream from watermelon, Pineapple , tamarind, and other fresh fruits.
On Saturdays and Sundays, they sell in high-traffic village spots.
They reinvest 25% of profits into buying the next day’s fruit and supplies.
The rest is split between them — teaching ownership, teamwork, and financial discipline.
First day sales 10/4:
$1,700 pesos revenue
$1,100 pesos profit
Enough for each kid to take home real earnings as business owners ($350 pesos).
Why We Need Your Help
Your donation goes directly to:
✅ Buying daily fruit, sugar, and cups
✅ Freezer bags and ice storage
✅ Expansion to more flavors & more stands (Mango Peach maybe?)
Every $5 you give is like planting a seed — and these kids turn it into a business lesson the very next day.
Transparency Promise
We’ll post weekly updates with:
Photos of the kids selling
Daily revenue & profit numbers
How your support is reinvested
This way, you can see your dollars at work in real time — just like Kiva, but straight to the kids.
❤️ How You Can Help
$5 buys 2 Pineapples and 2 ice bags
$25 keeps the stand running for a day.
$100 can scale into new flavors and bigger stands (hmmm...Peach Mango or Coconut Lime anyone?)
$150 Tell us your favorite fruit mix, we’ll use those ingredients and we will name the ice cream after you!
If you’re ever in Santiago or Villa González, Dominican Republic come try the Nieves yourself!
“We don’t just sell ice cream… we’re learning how to build our future.”
