Joshua and Rachael Adoption Fund
Donation protected
Nine years ago, we got married with the vision that we would be eventually extending our family. We both were excited about the opportunity to have children together. We became pregnant shortly after we were married. Little did we know this would start a scary and emotional journey.
Sadly, our first pregnancy that we were so excited about ended in miscarriage. Josh was currently in the US Navy and had to deploy for 6 months a week after the miscarriage. When he returned we decided to try again. Because of the circumstances surrounding the miscarriage we decided to have testing done.
This was when we found that Rachael is in fact a unicorn. Well actually she was born with half her uterus. This is called Unicornuat Uterus. This is when we knew our journey was going to be far from “normal”. Sadly, we were right.
We worked with an infertility specialist in San Diego and were able to become pregnant again. However, this also ended in miscarriage. This is when we found that the problem was not becoming pregnant but carrying the baby successfully.
We have tried and lost 4 more babies since. We took time to cope with all the loses. We have had very long talks about where we want to go from here. In our hearts we know that we want to be parents. We feel that being a mother and father does not necessarily mean that your child is biologically yours. That it’s the love and support that you bring each other to create a family. We could not imagine our life any other way.
We are excited to announce that we are adopting but we need a little help. Adoption ranges anywhere between $40,000 - $45,000. That is in addition of adding the cost of adding a newborn baby into our life. We have had a lot of family and friends ask us what they can do to help throughout the years. We have decided to put our pride aside and ask for help. No matter how little of a donation you can provide we appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for reading our story and supporting our journey
