Help Jose Diaz Cross the 129th Boston Marathon Finish Line

Hi, my name is Jose Diaz: a first-generation Dominican-American, born and raised in Boston, and a grad student working through a computer science master’s at Northeastern University. 

 Six years ago, I joined LiveFitArmy’s free running team as someone who’d been hit by a car twice—once in 2022 and again this past October—leaving my left ankle completely rebuilt. This year, I’m lacing up for the Boston Marathon with the same community that taught me how to walk—jog—then run again. And more importantly, for the community that reminded me of a valuable lesson in life: it’s not what you go through, it’s what you grow through. 

 This isn’t just my race. It’s for the 14 other LiveFitArmy runners selected through this lottery, and for every person who thinks “I can’t” because resources feel out of reach. LFA gave me training plans, a bib, and mentors when I needed it most. Now we’re paying it forward—your support directly fuels the next generation of runners who’ll write their own comeback stories.
