Pentathlon of Pain for 2nd Harvest
Before I tell you who I am I'd like to tell you why I'm doing this. It's because for every $1 raised for Second Harvest they can provide 7 nutritional meals for hungry families in Northwest NC. If we raise $1,500 that will be 10,500 meals for the hungry.
Now for who I am. My name is Jon Lowder and for the last five years I've done a variety of embarrassing or challenging things to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. One year I had my head shaved, another I jumped into a pool wearing a tiara, tutu and high heels.
This year I've decided to step it up and the challenge I've created is Jon's Pentathlon of Pain (the pain can be either physical or emotional/embarrassing). The first event is a 110 story memorial stair climb on 9/11 and another is a 30K run on 9/26/15. I'm looking for three more events and I'm hoping some companies will pony $ to have me do something goofy, crazy or physically challenging that will also get their name out there while supporting a great cause. If you have an idea please feel free to share it!
Any support you provide will be much appreciated and please remember that even $10 will feed 70 people!
Update: Below is video from the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, the first stage of my Pentathlon of Pain.
