Hi! We are trying to raise money to help our cousin Jono who suffered a high spinal cord injury and damage to his brain stem in July 2025. Jono is 35 and this life changing injury has resulted in locked in syndrome. He is tetraplegic, retaining only movement of his facial muscles.

He is ventilator dependent and unable to speak. Despite his injuries, he remains fully aware of his surroundings and communicates with visitors and his care team by blinking, mouthing and using an eye gaze device.

Jono has been incredibly brave and determined since his injury which has been possible thanks to his wonderful partner Aoife. We want to help Jono get home to his own house and funds will go towards helping him do so and go out and about in the community. Needless to say, this will be incredibly costly. Jono cannot breathe on his own and will need specialised care including housing adaptations, a wheelchair accessible vehicle and power wheelchair.

Jono is still the same caring, kind, intelligent and funny person he always was despite the huge challenges he is faced with. Your support would be greatly appreciated so he can get home to his fiancée Aoife.
