Through almost a decade together and 5 years of marriage, we have always shared the dream of starting a family. Unfortunately,  the process has not been easy. From fostering, to adopting, to taking on a sibling set of 4 brothers (ages 7 months, 7 years old, 8 years old and 9 years old), having to buy bunk beds, a crib, a minivan and all the essentials for raising a family...only to have the court system fail both us and them. The road to starting a family has been a difficult one. The US adoption system is not for the faint of heart and to be honest, it's nothing like the movies. There are not thousands of young kids ready for adoption like you would think. The "process" is very difficult and has broken our hearts on more than one occasion. It has been an emotional rollercoaster and we were beginning to think that starting a family was never going to work out for us. That being said, we are excited to announce something that we never thought would be possible for two people working in education. We have been offered the gift of a lifetime...someone very near and dear to our hearts has offered to be our surrogate. We are so thankful and can never repay her for her love and generosity! Having someone willing to carry our child does cut the price down significantly, however, surrogacy is still a very expensive process. We understand that these are difficult times, we would appreciate any help in starting the family we have always dreamed of. Thank you and much love!

We know $10,000 seems like a hefty goal, but the process is not cheap. The $10,000 will cover 1/2 the cost of our egg adoption and the beginning processes of fertilization. We will still have to pay a significant amount out of our own pocket, but we know that it will be worth every penny. We have even started to drive for DoorDash and Uber Eats to raise funds.
