Goodwill Campaign for Jonathan

Hello All,

My name is Jessica Edge, and many of you may or may not know that my brother Jonathan Edge was diagnosed with colon cancer back in August. The cancer had also spread to his liver, making the colon inoperable. The only treatment was aggressive chemo, and he is now entering his 3rd round. The recent results have been positive; the colon tumor is shrinking, and the liver has seen minimal shrinkage. While we hope this will buy him some time, the ultimate prognosis is terminal.

Over the last year, he has been building a life in Texas, making friends and working a job as an executive chef for a wedding venue. As the disease has progressed, it has become more challenging for him to maintain life as usual, and he made the difficult decision to leave Texas and move back home to live with Mom and Jen in Metuchen and continue treatment from there.

This is why I'm reaching out - since he has been home, morale is very low, and I think he could use all the love and support he can get. He doesn’t know I’ve done this yet (likely he will find out soon even if I’ve kept him from this post). His birthday is coming up on May 6th - and I would love for this message to reach friends and family, far and wide (please share directly to other friends), to rally and send him messages of goodwill and support in the form of letters and cards. This whole process has taken its toll both mentally and physically. Please message me directly for the home address - or if you know us, you know the house (same one since 1983!).

In tandem with the letters and cards, I am hoping to raise some money for Jonathan’s "Ice Cream Fund". He told me recently that he really enjoys eating ice cream, as it feels good going down and he finds little moments of joy while eating it. Since he’s not working and medical expenses are ever-present, his ability to plan things for pure enjoyment is limited. So I’d like this to help with medical costs and for a little slush fund for whatever may bring him joy.
