Jonah's 'Healing with Horses' walkathon page

I am 17 years old, and I have been riding at Centaur Stride since I was three years old. I learned how to ride on Maple, and then progressed to riding Pixie. This past year, I have been riding Dude as well as a couple of other horses. I love riding through the woods and exploring new trails. I enjoy working with the instructors and learning how to groom and take care of the horses. Riding horses has helped me learn the rhythm of a natural walking gait. It has improved my balance. Plus, it’s just fun!

I want to continue helping Centaur Stride, the horses, and all the other people who ride there by participating in this year’s walkathon. I’m going to be walking to help raise the $3500 needed to take care of a horse for the next year. Because of the pandemic, I will be walking outside this year – hopefully the snow will be gone and I can walk in the woods. If not, I will be walking on the path in Mayville near Chautauqua Lake.
