Hello friends and family,
We had hoped to bring you an update you would be glad to see, but that’s not what the Lord has for us today. Our brother Jon has continued to have complications with his colon cancer. Most recently, the doctors discovered a cancerous mass in his pelvis which is inoperable. So, he is undergoing two kinds of chemotherapy and more radiation. He is experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort, many days without energy, and feeling despair about being unable to work to provide for himself.
What you all did the first time around—praying, sending words of encouragement, and helping him financially—lifted his spirit more than we can adequately express here in words. He was brought to tears at the generosity and compassion of this community right here. He is thankful, his sons are thankful, and all of us who are closest to him are so thankful for this outworking of God’s provision and care.
Once again, Jon needs help. This burden is too much for him to bear alone. He needs your prayers, he needs a kind word in his direction, he needs acts of love, and he needs financial provision. So, we are setting our GoFundMe goal to 20,000, and asking the Lord to make a way for him to keep his most pressing needs met.
We thank you, in advance, for any ways you choose to support Jon. Your acts of mercy are a bright shining beam of hope in the dim and daunting battlefield of suffering.

Original Campaign Post (12/4/2019):
Jon Skero is a loving, hard working father of two boys and a blessing to many others. On April 30th, 2019, Jon received the hard news that he had colon cancer. Through chemo, radiation and two surgeries since that first diagnosis, Jon has trusted the Lord. And if you know him, you know what a light he’s been to those around him. Although this cancer battle has been brutal to him, hope has not left his heart.
But he has hit a wall: the mounting expenses of his treatments have outpaced his ability to pay for them. Now, we, as his family and friends who love him and hate to see him burdened by financial strain, are asking for help.
Any donation is greatly appreciated, and all funds will be used to help Jon pay medical bills, home utilities, groceries and other items that will assist with his recovery. If you are unable to help tangibly, would you pray for Jon? And would you share this page with others who may be able to help, too?
We thank you for being a part of God’s provision for Jon through this trying time. Let’s show up, show love and give all the glory to our Father who ordains each day and works it all out for our good.
