Jon Monge Medical Costs for Spinal Injury

Hi everyone, I’m starting a fundraiser for Jon Monge. For those of you who know JP, father of 3, he is an outgoing, charismatic character who loves to play sports and dance. On Saturday, June 24th, he was involved in an accident that left him with several fractured vertebrae and unable to feel anything from his chest down. He was airlifted to the Trauma Center at Norfolk General in Norfolk, VA where a neurosurgeon was called in to perform a surgery on his spine and repair the vertebrae and ruptured discs. His first surgery was in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 25th and will have to undergo a second surgery for the placement of rods on Monday, June 26th. He is currently in ICU recovering and will be there for the next several days. He’s trying to remain in good spirits and still has his funny personality. JP will have to endure approximately 12 weeks of intensive physical therapy, while in the hospital, in hopes that he will regain muscle movement in his legs and feet. For now, the trauma team is unable to know for sure if he will regain any movement, and only time will tell, but we are hoping for the best possible outcome. Being that he was airlifted to Norfolk General, we are expecting the medical bills to be substantial and any donations are greatly appreciated.
