The photo above shows the utility area at the new Highland apartment building in North Hills, as seen from neighbors' homes across the street on Lassiter Mill Road. Note the loading docks and dumpsters designed and positioned with NO respect for the surrounding neighbors. Delivery trucks routinely park illegally on the city street here, sparing Kane Development the need to pay its own way for this space. City Council just gave Kane the go ahead for MORE of this nonsense all around the Lassiter and Main District in North Hills. To which Midtown Neighbors United says, "Not if we have our say about it!" And we will - despite the City's best efforts to shut us out and shut us up! So read on, come on with us and donate!

The Midtown Neighbors United Legal Assistance Fund has been created to support professional and legal efforts to convince the City of Raleigh that it must fully and properly address unresolved planning, zoning, traffic, and quality-of-life issues affecting the Midtown and North Hills neighborhoods BEFORE further large scale development in the area. Our community is facing intense development, and recent decisions by the City have left many residents feeling unheard and concerned about the future of our neighborhoods.

The City’s recent approval of rezoning request Z-34-25 for the North Hills Main and Lassiter Districts came despite a mountain of serious and well-documented community concerns. This decision has made it clear that we must join together to demand responsible development that truly considers the needs and rights of all residents. With your support, we can work with qualified legal professionals and subject-matter experts to bring our concerns to the City in a way that cannot be ignored.

Your contribution to this Fund will directly support activities such as engaging attorneys and specialized experts, conducting legal review and analysis of the City’s actions, and advocating vigorously for responsible development—including legal action if necessary. Every dollar raised will help ensure that the voices of Midtown and North Hills are heard and that our community’s rights are fully considered and honored.
