Join Us in Uplifting Laquisha's Family

With all of the huge problems in the world today that we can’t correct, we would like to take care of a smaller problem locally that we can correct. I am fundraising to help our friend Laquisha and her 3 girls with back-to-school clothes and supplies, groceries and utility bills. We helped Laquisha find, afford and move into an apartment last December. Rent is high ($2300 per month) and she struggles to keep up with bills. Their 2 bed/1 bath apartment is on the third (top) floor of an older building in Concord with one small old air conditioner.

With our recent heat wave, she is worried she will not be able to afford her summer PG&E bills. We bought her a good fan which I hope will help keep temperatures in the apartment down. Dyan Cushing, Kathy Barnett and I help her with groceries when she runs low. With your help we can cover school clothes and supplies, some groceries and utility bills and possibly even gift cards for Christmas. Last Christmas we were able to supply gift cards for groceries, gas and clothes.

Laquisha is only one of the many single Moms struggling to survive. She still works 2 jobs and only wants a better life for her girls and she's getting tired.
