Hello All —
Please bear with me while I find a way to explain the unexplainable, and give myself grace while doing so. In early August of this year, my mother began frequently visiting the hospital to try and find a root cause as to why she has been feeling the way she has. She has experienced an overload of aches and pains that were completely unidentified to us over the last year and a half. Pain in her chest and different areas of her body. A cough that has recently been accompanied by blood. Fatigue. A loss of appetite. Shortness of breath. The biggest concern that was visible within my mom, physically, was her weight. My mom's weight had begun to drop very quickly and very fast, to the point where she was down to 110 lbs. The doctors ran what felt like over a hundred tests on my mom before finding an 8 CM mass growing on her right lung, with swollen lymph nodes.
My mom is battling stage three lung cancer. While my family and I are forced to remain patient while my mother still has labs and tests run to further identify these concerns, this is where I go back to the part where I say bear with me. Bear with my family. And please, give us grace during what we know will be nothing less than one of the most difficult times of our lives. My mom will undergo her first chemotherapy session on Friday, October 18th, and it will be a long and hard road to recovery for her! But she will recover.
My mother will recover because our Father God is one of ONE, and He is our protector.
My siblings and I want to take this time to come together for our mother. Because she is someone's daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend, a role model, my best friend.
Any contributions to my mother's illness will go to ANY & ALL necessary medical expenses she may have, as well as any resources or supplies she may need to make this process easier for her or simply supplies that the doctors recommend she may need.
I will frequently post updates on my mom through this GoFundMe we have created for her, and any questions or concerns you may have, do not hesitate to reach out to me.
This absolutely may take a village, but I'm confident that my mom deserves hers.
Thank you Everyone, And God Bless You.
