Why We're Raising Funds

Reentry isn’t easy. Coming home after over two decades means starting from scratch—housing, clothing, transportation, job training, food, and basic tech tools like a phone or laptop are all real and immediate needs.

John is enrolled in job training programs, connecting with local organizations, and building his skills with intention. But the gap between freedom and stability is wide, and that’s where you come in.

Your contribution will help cover:

Transitional housing and basic living expenses

Food, clothing, and hygiene essentials

Transportation to and from job training programs and interviews

Workforce development tools like a phone, laptop, and certifications

Support for his participation in DC Central Kitchen’s Culinary Program

Reconnection with family and support systems he’s been separated from for decad
