Hi, I’m Annie. A Single Mother to Four Beautiful Children Who I am Here Desperately Asking for their sake to help us with funding for a safe & healthy home to start over in.
4 years ago I left an abusive marriage to move back in with my mother with 3 little babies and pregnant with the 4th.
6 months after moving back home / 11 weeks postpartum; my 4 year old Son Desmond Was Diagnosed with an extremely rare & life threatening condition called Pericardial Lymphangiomatosis.
Simply put. He has an aggressive overproduction of lymphatic fluid, paired with a large and extreme malformation of his lymphatic vessels. Resulting in that fluid being drained into the space around his Heart & Right Lung Compressing & Filling Both. Essentially drowning him from the inside out.
This condition is so rare there are only 35 other known diagnosis / cases in the entire world & Only 2 other children.
From 4/8-5/7 alone Desmond has had to be hospitalized and had to endure over 7 surgeries to drain lymphatic fluid from his body.
His Treatment has been ongoing for 3 years including a daily oral chemo that costs $7,236 a month and a Permanent Penicillin to prevent strep throat as we’ve found that the mold in my mothers home may be a contributing factor to him consistently becoming ill and ramping up his fluid production as his immune system is severely compromised & weak.
As a single mother of four and a current inability to stabilize a job/ income with his inability to attend school due to being immune compromised & his long hospital stays I can no longer afford to even keep food on the table.
But with his treatment center being 3.5 hours from where we live, meaning I must leave my girls with my mother for those unknown periods of time leaving them in instability and knowing the home is a factor in his condition worsening.
I am pleading for support and assistance.
I’ve already begun applying to jobs at the hospital where his treatment is. His inpatient stays would be covered and my income could finally be stabilized and I can finally go back to school to be a midwife with their tuition reimbursement program! I just need help with the down payment portion to be able to find a clean and safe home to raise my babies in and to feed my babies in the meantime.
His most recent stay and not being able to be with my girls has just about broken me to the core as my daughter was sexually assaulted at a “friends” house and I was unable to be there to protect her.
I’ve missed out on so much of my 3, 4, & 9 year old girls lives because of constantly being separated during hospital stays for my now about to be 7 year old son. (His birthday is May 21st if anyone wants to send him something)
I’ve applied for every state assistance program under the sun, child support, and even disability for my son but am still waiting to hear back from any of them and don’t know what to do until then.
