Hi, my name is Hanna Jones. My parents are Lisa and Glenn Jones. Usually, my family donates to people in need whenever we’re able to. My parents are good, kind people and have a good community around them because of who they are. Unfortunately, we’ve had a lot of distress during our holiday time. On thanksgiving day this year, they were in a car accident on the way to our Thanksgiving dinner destination. I was driving behind them with my boyfriend and we witnessed the whole incident. My dad was sore and dealing with pain from being in the driver side. My mom’s seatbelt popped open and she hit the dash. She has a fractured shoulder, broken wrist, and 5 fractures total in her pelvis. The first week of her hospitalization was truly terrifying and she was intubated to prevent further risk on her lungs. She has chronic asthma as is and she had taken impact on her sternum during the crash. Although it’s been scary, my mom was discharged from the hospital on her 20th day there, and is now at a rehabilitation center to work on standing and walking. We’re very glad she is closer to home and getting the help she needs. So many of my parents’ family and friends have reached out and said we should do one of these funds, just to get some extra help. Many people have asked how they can help and to reach out if we needed anything. This is the only way we could think that people could help if they wanted to, and if they’re able to. We truly appreciate all the kindness, love and support everyone has given our family during this time. It’s been very stressful but every bit of help has been God sent and we’re so grateful.
