Journey to Serve — January 17-24, 2026 • Tamarindo, Costa Rica
I am honored to be joining the District Church mission team out of California for our first ever trip to Costa Rica in partnership with Tamarindo Church. Over the course of eight days, we will go together to the beautiful coastal town of Tamarindo with one clear purpose: to share hope, build community, and tangibly serve our neighbors.
What we’re doing
- Constructing a men’s rehabilitation center — a safe, healing space for men in need of restoration, dignity and community. Our hands and hearts will take part in the building process.
- Hosting a three-day VBS (Vacation Bible School) for local children: games, Bible stories, crafts and the chance to experience love and care in meaningful ways.
- Distributing food and Bibles along the way as part of outreach efforts, bringing both practical help and spiritual encouragement.
Why I’m going
This trip aligns deeply with both my faith and my commitment to action. I believe that loving our neighbors isn’t optional—it’s essential. It’s one thing to talk about hope; it’s another thing entirely to *live* hope in a place where people are waiting for change. I see this as a system-leverage moment: by participating in construction, outreach and kids ministry, we aren’t just doing “a mission trip,” we are helping create durable infrastructure and relationships that will multiply for years to come.
My fundraising goal
To make this possible, I am committing to raise $5,000. These funds will cover my trip costs, materials for the rehab-center build, food for distribution, supplies for the children’s camp, travel, lodging and coordination fees. My objective is that every dollar moves us closer to maximum impact, so that when I land in Tamarindo, I can spend 100% of my energy on serving, not on logistics.
How you can help
Pray: Pray for every person we will meet, for local leaders at Tamarindo Church, for smooth logistics, for my team’s unity, and for lasting fruit from this week.
Donate: Your gift—whether $25, $100 or $500—helps directly enable the build, the outreach and the relational work.
Share: Please share this mission with your network. The more we connect people into this story, the greater the momentum—and the greater the domino effect of love and service.
Accountability: I’ll be accountable to you along the way. I’ll send updates before, during and after our time in Costa Rica—because this isn’t just my trip, it’s our mission.
Bold Challenge & Opportunity
I’m asking you to step out of your comfort zone with me. If you’ve donated to mission work before or never donated at all—this is a next-level invitation. Let’s flip the script on what “going on mission” means: rather than observing, let’s invest; rather than just giving, let’s partner; rather than being passive, let’s engage in transformation. Together we can raise the standard for impact.
Root Cause & Leverage
Often the real challenge isn’t the lack of resources—it’s the lack of infrastructure, awareness and empowerment. By helping build a men’s rehab center right now we’re addressing root issues: brokenness, isolation, lack of employment, no safe pathway forward. The building is a one-time investment; the ripple effect is ongoing. The outreach to children interrupts a generational cycle of hopelessness. Food and Scripture distribution meet immediate need while signalling deeper value. Your investment leverages multiple systems of change—emotional, physical, spiritual, social.

I’m deeply grateful for your consideration. If you believe in bold action, durable legacy, and real leverage, I hope you’ll join me. Want to talk next steps or how we can personalize your involvement? I’d love to.
Thank you for partnering. Let’s go together and do something remarkable in Tamarindo.
