Assalamu Alaikum,

We are currently in Chennai for the treatment of our only child, little Afraz. Our 2-year

-old son was diagnosed with Metastatic Neuroblastoma last August. A tumor went undetected, which eventually turned into cancer. Every day, we think about writing something about Afraz, but we never imagined experiencing a Ramadan like this. Everything still feels like a nightmare. It has been nearly six months in a foreign country. We have placed our trust in Allah, hoping our child receives the best possible treatment. With Allah’s will, anything is possible! We remain hopeful that one day, we will hear the news that our little bird is completely healed, and there will be no more worries—In Sha Allah.

By the grace of Allah, Afraz has already undergone eight chemotherapy sessions, a major surgery, and a bone marrow transplant. This month, radiotherapy is set to begin, followed by immunotherapy. The radiotherapy will require 15 sessions, and since he is very young, he will have to be sedated for each session.

Please, everyone, pray for our little one. May Allah ease everything for him, grant him a healthy and normal life, and make our lives simple and peaceful—Ameen.

The estimated cost for radiotherapy is 5 lakh rupees, while immunotherapy expenses are around 50 lakh rupees (approximately 80 lakh BDT!). We have placed our trust in Allah regarding this 77–80 lakh BDT budget. Over the past six months, we have already spent more than 25 lakh rupees (around 40 lakh BDT!) on treatment.

The most shocking part is that the immunotherapy (Anti-GD2 antibody), essential for boosting Afraz’s immunity, has to be imported from Switzerland, and it alone costs 50 lakh rupees! The expense is so high that within the next month, we might need to pay double the amount we have already spent in the past six months!

Due to strained political relations with our country, we are not receiving any financial aid here. We do not know why Allah is testing us so greatly. We do not know if we are strong enough to pass this test.

During this sacred month of Ramadan, we humbly ask for your prayers. The treatment is so expensive that we are now compelled to try crowdfunding. With everyone's support, we hope to continue Afraz’s treatment—In Sha Allah.
