Kristen Modafferi, 18, has been missing for 27 years and here is how we are going to find her:

There are three important numbers: ‘96’, ‘23’ and ‘50’.

(1) 96 percent 

(2) 23 days

(3) 50 people.

(1) The FBI has a statistic that says when a woman meets with foul play, there is a 96% chance that she somehow knew her assailant.

(2) From Charlotte, NC, 18-year-old Kristen travelled to the San Francisco Bay area to spend the summer between her freshman and sophomore years at NC State in Raleigh, NC.

(3) She was only in the Bay Area for 23 days before she vanished.

(4) In that very short 'window of time', Kristen only knew about 50 people at the most. (Roommates, co-workers, neighbors, friends, etc)

(5) Therefore, there is a 96% chance that one of these 50 people may have information about Kristen's disappearance.

(6) An FBI agent once emphatically told me that 'people talk. “They ALWAYS talk,” he said.

1997 was 27 years ago. That means there has been plenty of time for these people to ‘talk’.

Using the internet and social media, we are recontacting these 50 people plus their social circles. Once contacted, we'll see if any new information bubbles up.

The fundraiser will be to raise funds to pay for information. We will pay $1,000.00 for any new info that meets very specific qualifications:

(1) The info must be new.

(2) The info must be independently verified

(3) The info must move the ball closer to the goal of finding Kristen.

Dennis Mahon is my name and I have run Kristen's website for over 25 years and I know more about her case than anyone on Earth except for Law Enforcement. 

I only say this to assure you that I will know if the info is (a) new; (b) legit and (c) qualify for a payout. 

I have also worked closely with Kristen's parents and a few Private Investigators over the years. Between us, we'll know if the info is good or not.

(Note: We will of course send any info we get to the Oakland, CA Police Department as well).

Most rewards are for 'Arrest & Conviction' which as you know could take years given the slow-moving pace of our court system.

This 'reward' will be paid out within a few hours of us being able to verify the legitimacy of the lead.
