To help cover mounting legal fees and fight for justice, residents are organizing a community fundraiser. We are launching this effort on Sunday August, 10th and the Sunday's in August to follow. We are asking for public support as we try to protect our homes, our creative community, and our dignity.
This is more than a housing issue! It's a HUMANITARIAN ISSUE!
It’s about:
- Negligent property management putting tenants at risk (Our wheelchair bound tenant is TRAPPED due to our consistent "out of service" elevator!)
- Artists being priced out, pushed out, and disregarded
- A broken system that allows properties to operate without accountability
We came home to a “THIS BUILDING IS NOT APPROVED FOR OCCUPANCY” notice, and we have been fighting in court for several months and we have a long way to go. YOUR donations and support are paramount to our SAVE THE ROOF initiative! NO AMOUNT is too small.
