Help a Loving Father Reunite with His Daughter
My friend’s daughter is 8 years old and she is his only child. I know him to be a gentle and loving father who desperately wants to be involved in his daughter’s life.
Dad and daughter have missed multiple holidays and special events. He misses his daughter terribly and has been fighting a child visitation battle instigated by his daughter’s mother and grandfather for 7 years, since his daughter was 1 year old. Prior to landing in the current court’s jurisdiction, CPS charges were filed in three other jurisdictions, determined to be completely unfounded by the authorities, and all cases were dismissed by the courts. Fortunately, Dad was able to see his daughter while the related investigations were ongoing.
Unfortunately, the maternal grandfather is very controlling of the mother and manipulative of all the women in his family. He doesn’t like the father, presumably because the parents weren’t married when the child was conceived. Their combined quest to separate Dad and daughter led them to a 4th jurisdiction in which to file charges. Unfortunately, that court disregarded the mother’s pattern of filing false charges.
As a result of this most recent filing, police, CPS, and detectives once again investigated the father, including conducting DNA and drug tests, forensic investigations of his phone and laptop, and Dad has done everything asked of him including taking fatherhood and other courses. Although the authorities in that county also determined the charges to be unfounded, the judge, for some unfathomable reason, did not dismiss the case as expected.
At this juncture, Dad hasn’t seen his daughter in 18 months and there is a current order in place that will continue to block visitation for another 1+ year. We need to resolve the case in the county in question so Dad can bring a valid custody case in the county of residence. Unfortunately, the 7-year legal battle and mother’s complete inability and unwillingness to co-parent have exhausted all available funds and loan options.
But there is hope. We have found a compassionate and experienced attorney who believes in justice for this child and her father. We need your help to bring them back together. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to reuniting a loving father with his beloved daughter.
