Join Tamera in Changing Lives in DC!
UPDATE:
To further the cause, we've updated our goal right here, saving you the confusion of navigating to a separate GoFundMe for the upcoming, imminent trip.
Thanks to your overwhelming support on this GoFundMe, our September 10-15 trip to DC was nothing short of transformative. Together, as patients and practitioners, we're breaking barriers at the federal level.
Join me tonight to grasp the magnitude of our victory. I'll be live at 8pm Central Standard Time on September 20th across Twitter Spaces and YouTube. After sharing the exhilarating updates, I'll be on hand to answer any questions you may have. (Link HERE). Your engagement and belief in this mission are shaping the futures for millions. Don't miss out!
Missed it live? Don't fret; the recording will be available for you painadvocate.org and on both our YouTube channel and Twitter (same links).
Your outpour of support — every share, every prayer, and every dollar — leaves me overwhelmed with gratitude. It's because of YOU that we're inching closer to significant changes at the federal level. Thank you for standing by my side as we forge ahead, representing the silent voices and making real, tangible change.
Let's continue this journey together. Your unwavering support fuels this mission.
Two months ago, something magical happened. At a pivotal event (pictured above) that both Tamera Stewart and I, Jennifer Zetterberg, attended, Tamera was extended an invitation to come to DC. The purpose? To present her transformative policy suggestions aimed at righting an egregious wrong. Why? Because something dire needs our attention.
Since 2013, the VA's drastic measures to reduce or remove opioid pain medications, while likely well intentioned, has been causing unprecedented pain, yet this destruction of lives has gone untracked. You might be or know someone, maybe even a close family member, who once relied on these medications to lead a normal life. And now? They suffer in silence, a consequence of policies made without understanding the ripple effects.
As a cancer survivor, pelvic mesh victim, and struggling daily with multiple pain causing autoimmune disorders, Tamera didn't stand by. By 2017, as the consequences grew for millions and the body count rose, she rolled up her sleeves and made her voice heard in DC. Since then, through the P3Alliance and with countless other vocal advocates, the tide has begun to turn. Tamera played an instrumental role in revising Oklahoma's overly burdensome opioid laws and even took her advocacy to other states.
But the journey isn't over.
Next week, Tamera has a golden chance to bring about national change, with six game changing meetings lined up with our nation's decision-makers with the scheduled agenda including taking the first steps to reverse the damage done by the VA opioid policy, the OSI (Opioid Safety Initiative). Plus, two strategically planned dinners with influential policy shapers on the horizon to ensure the work continues when she returns to Oklahoma.
But, here's the catch: Tamera needs your support. Beyond just meeting her essential travel and stay expenses, your contribution empowers her to stand out as she represents thousands who've silently borne the brunt of these policies for too long.
Let's not just meet, but exceed the goal, ensuring Tamera's relentless fight continues. Because when you support Tamera, you become a beacon of hope for countless individuals yearning for a basic quality of life which has been denied to millions since the opioid guidelines and policies went mainstream.
Your move. Take a stand with Tamera and change not just one, but multiple lives today and in the future.
