Join our Journey: Help Us Support Our Kenyan Partners
Donation protected
We are a group of graduate and undergraduate social work students at West Chester University who will be traveling to Kenya in May 2025 to shadow social workers in organizations in Nairobi. The purpose of our program is to create a mutual exchange of knowledge and resources. As such, we have reached out to the organizations in advance to ask about the needs of their clients and how we might best partner with them upon arrival. Several of our partners have indicated a need for a variety of in-kind donations. For example, the autism day program needs age appropriate sensory toys, the secondary school needs uniform shoes, and the elementary school located in the informal settlement of Kibera needs new school books to match the recently released new curriculum.
We are reaching out to our friends, family and colleagues to ask you to join our journey by donating what you can to help us purchase as many of the items requested as we can. We depart the US on May 16th and our hope is to complete the purchase of items in Kenya upon our arrival, with distribution by the second week of our three week stay.
We appreciate anything you are able to donate and if you are not able to give, we ask that you send positive vibes for a successful and enriching experience!
