Hi!

I'm Koa Melvin, and this summer I’m traveling to Honduras from June 14–21 to volunteer with an amazing medical nonprofit called One World Surgery.

One World Surgery is doing incredible work. Over five billion people around the world don’t have access to safe surgery. This organization is helping change that by providing surgical services to people who need it most, in places where healthcare is hard to reach. Since 2009, they’ve performed over 12,000 life-changing surgeries—and this summer I get to be a small part of that mission.

The surgical center is located about an hour north of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I’ll be there for a week, helping out however I can, learning, and giving back. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience.
