Hi, my name is Maurycy, and I’m a proud East Side native and founder of The Southeast Collective, an organization focused on uplifting our neighborhoods - East Side, South Deering, and Hegewisch - through community action and support.
As a current college student myself, I know firsthand how tough the journey can be, especially for students from under-resourced communities. That’s why I’m launching this fundraiser: to give back to four local students who’s not only working hard toward their future, but also stepping up to help improve the community.
The goal is to raise $4,000 to gift to four college students an amount of $1,000 each from our area who takes part in one of our upcoming volunteer cleanup events. This support could go toward school costs like tuition, books, or transportation - whatever helps them stay on track.
This isn’t just about providing financial help. It’s about recognizing and supporting a young person who’s actively involved in bettering our neighborhoods. By investing in them, we’re continuing a cycle of empowerment and community care.
Every dollar counts. Whether it's $5 or $50, your support will make a real difference - not just in one student’s life, but in the future of our community as a whole.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for showing what Southeast Side pride is all about.
With gratitude,
Maurycy Pedroza
Founder, The Southeast Collective
