Mary Moore needs our caring help and support NOW

Our family is working day and night to help repair Mary’s home from a collapsed portion of the structure so that she may continue living safely in her small forest cabin. Our grandmother, our friend, our unyielding crusader of social justice advocacy and accountability for the past 5 decades is facing a dire situation.

The modest cabin she has lived in since 1970 suffered a collapsing roof which compromised an entire wall which has now been taken down and as we got into it, it is evident that foundational work must be done to ensure the safety of her cabin.

Mary will be 89 years young on July 14!

Her greatest hope at this stage in life to be able to continue her activism work from her home while in simple comfort during the later stages of her journey.

HUGE shout out to Robert who has donated his time for the past 4 weeks along with his construction knowledge while daily organizing a crew to get into the nuts and bolts of securing the foundation of the home so it does not completely crumble.

Huge shot out to Raina too! Mary’s grand daughter Raina moved onto the property 3 years ago to help Mary daily so that she may remain living at home once she stopped driving.

For the past 4 weeks Friends have donated tools to use, some supplies and while we are working daily to rebuild it, it will take awhile to complete because we are also working with a small crew that has been able to donate time. At this stage we need to hire an adequate team and purchase the necessary lumber supplies in order to complete the project so Mary has a wall and safe home agian! She has been a trooper living in this make shift situation for the time being and we must rally support so she can once again live with all 4 walls!

If you know Mary you know she is not one to personally ask for help. Today we are gathering support so that we can meet her with the solution and plan of action we have prepared. This has been extremely stressful for Mary as she lives on a very small fixed income. The stress of comprehending the serious situation has been taxing on her mental and physical health. We have a plan and a team that is willing to work and with your help we can get to work!

At 89 years young Mary deserves to be warm and safe and we all need to chip in to help.
