On February 1st, 2021, the Myanmar military staged a coup that overthrew the democratically elected government. Since the second week after the coup, shooting and killing of civilians have been increasing every single day. According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, 217 civilians have been killed, 2191 individuals have been arrested, charged or sentenced for asking to respect their votes, and 1872 are still detained.
To fight to restore democracy in Myanmar, many civil servants -- such as doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, bankers, railway workers, social workers and many other essential workers -- have gone on strike against the military. Because of this Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), the military government is losing substantial funding - $2 billion per day on average.
However, we need your support and donation to continue with our fight to restore democracy in Myanmar. Please consider supporting the CDM movement. 100% of your donation will go to civil servants in Myanmar.
