Our Story
Hi! We are the Weiner Family. We have wanted and prayed for a big family for as long as we can remember, certainly going back to when we were dating. Adoption has always been on our hearts, but we just weren’t sure when the time would come. Our journey to get here was not easy, but it has become a testimony of God’s faithfulness, and we know it is part of our story. We said yes to adoption in March 2024 and we are now weeks away from becoming a waiting family. We have prayed for a child for 5 years every dinner with our kids and ask you to join us in the power of prayer! We hope this video and information help give you ways to step into our story with us as we wait for the baby God has planned for us.
Look out for updates here and on social media!
Timeline
March 2024 – We applied to attend orientation. This process includes reference checks and an application. We attended orientation at Christian Homes in Abilene, TX, where we learned more about the agency, the people there, toured their housing for moms, and got to listen to stories from adoptive families and adoptees.
April 2024 – We began the home study paperwork, including around 30 forms such as family background info, financial information, medical history, internet profile, emergency plan, autobiographies, spiritual history, among others. We also completed FBI background checks, CPR and Infant First Aid certification, doctor’s visits for good health checks, parenting and adoption classes, and more.
March – April 2025 – We began the home study portion, which includes two interviews: an interview with parents and a home visit to approve the home and interview the kids. The home study is written up by our case worker and submitted a few weeks after the home visit.
Next up – We become a waiting family. Once we are on the waiting family list, we wait for a birth mom to match with our family.
Adoption Fees – How does Christian Homes Adoption Agency use these funds?

The cost of meeting state-mandated staffing, legal, counseling, and record-keeping requirements.
The cost of providing a lifetime of post-adoption services to the adoptee, the adoptive family, and the birth parents.
How you can Pray
Peace – Pray that our family continues to trust in God’s perfect timing during the waiting period.
Birth Mom + Baby – Pray that the birth mom would receive all the support she needs physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and that God would comfort her during this time, making possibly the hardest decision of her life. Pray that the baby is healthy and for a safe birth and delivery. Pray that we would have an open relationship with her and the opportunity to share the love of Christ.
Financial Provision – Our adoption will cost over $45k, pray for God’s provision.
